Honda S660 Concept Edition marks launch with 660-unit run
Honda has unveiled the S660 Concept Edition for Japan, a limited model celebrating the S660’s market launch with exclusive features and a run of just 660 cars.
Honda has introduced the S660 Concept Edition, a limited-run model created to celebrate the launch of the S660 in Japan. Only 660 examples will be produced, reflecting the car’s kei-class engine size and marking it out as a collector’s item from the start.
Exclusive styling and equipment
The S660 Concept Edition is finished in Premium Star White Pearl, a colour reserved for this model, and features a two-tone leather interior. The driver’s seat is trimmed in light grey, while the passenger seat is finished in dark grey, both with red stitching. Further details include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift lever, as well as an individually numbered plaque for each car.
Honda has equipped the Concept Edition with features such as the City Brake Active system and a centre display. The door windows receive Ultra Glass Coating NEO, a water-repellent treatment intended to improve visibility and ease cleaning. These additions set the Concept Edition apart from the standard S660, which already targets Japan’s kei car segment with compact dimensions and lightweight construction.
Engine and transmission
Like the regular S660, the Concept Edition is powered by a 660cc three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 63hp (47kW). Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a seven-speed CVT available as an option. No performance figures have been released for the Concept Edition, but the hardware is unchanged from the standard car.
Availability and context
Orders for the S660 Concept Edition open on Thursday following the announcement, with sales limited to the Japanese market. The model is part of a tradition of launch editions for Japanese kei sports cars, offering unique specifications and finishes to early adopters.
