Prior Design gives Audi A6 and RS6 Avant a wide-body overhaul and power boost
The German tuner’s latest kit for the A6 and RS6 Avant adds up to 110 hp and a striking, widened stance, targeting both diesel and petrol variants.
Prior Design has released a new wide-body kit and engine tuning package for the Audi A6 Avant and RS6 Avant, offering both visual aggression and substantial power gains for the outgoing generation. The kit is available for both the standard A6 estate and the high-performance RS6, covering a broad range of buyers interested in either diesel or petrol performance.
Wide-body styling and aerodynamic changes
The Prior Design kit transforms the A6/RS6 Avant with custom front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches, and muscular side skirts. The front track grows by 8 cm, while the rear expands by 10 cm, giving the car a much broader stance. A large roof-mounted spoiler and a more pronounced rear diffuser complete the aerodynamic package, with a subtle boot spoiler rounding off the look.
The demonstration model shown by Prior Design sits on 21-inch Vossen VPS-310 alloys with a ten-spoke, matte finish. Suspension is dropped with a KW module, bringing the body closer to the ground and further emphasising the widened arches. The changes are intended to deliver a more assertive visual presence while retaining the practicality of the Avant estate format.
Engine tuning: diesel and V8 petrol options
Alongside the bodywork, Prior Design offers engine upgrades for both the 3.0 TDI diesel and the RS6’s 4.0-litre TFSI V8. The diesel receives an additional 98 hp and 116 lb-ft, for a total of 411 hp and 596 lb-ft (807 Nm). The RS6’s V8 package lifts output by 110 hp and 96 lb-ft to 670 hp and 613 lb-ft (830 Nm). These figures put both versions well into super-estate territory, with the RS6 upgrade in particular pushing it ahead of many rivals in outright power.
The upgrade packages are available separately or as part of a complete conversion, allowing owners to choose between visual and mechanical enhancements. While Prior Design has not published performance figures, the power increases suggest substantial improvements in acceleration and in-gear response, particularly for the RS6.
Market context and alternatives
No pricing has been disclosed for the full conversion, and Prior Design has not indicated whether the kit will be limited in production. The kit is aimed at owners looking to extend the life and appeal of the outgoing A6 and RS6 Avant, as the next generation nears launch.
