Hyundai introduced the Creta STC (Sport Truck Concept) at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show, presenting a pickup adaptation of its compact Creta SUV specifically for the Brazilian market. The concept extends the regular Creta’s footprint, with a 4.65-metre length and a wheelbase stretched to 2.80 metres, positioning it well above the standard model in both size and utility.

The Creta STC’s design was led by Hyundai’s South Korean studio, but development included input from Hyundai Motor Brazil to address local preferences. The concept’s exterior retains much of the Creta’s familiar front-end styling, but the grille is more pronounced and the headlamps use LED technology. The show car rides on 21-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli 295/40 R21 Scorpion Zero tyres, giving it a more assertive stance than the road-going SUV.

Concept features target Brazilian buyers

Hyundai equipped the Creta STC with a range of features intended to appeal to Brazilian buyers, including an ergonomic bed with integrated speakers, power outlets and multiple storage compartments. These additions reflect the growing interest in lifestyle pickups in South America, where buyers value versatility as much as passenger comfort.

The concept’s proportions and equipment suggest Hyundai is gauging interest in a production pickup that could compete with established rivals in the region. No powertrain details were released at the show, and Hyundai has not confirmed any production plans for the Creta STC.
