MSO crafts one-off McLaren P1 Project 300 hypercar
McLaren Special Operations has produced a unique P1, chassis 300, finished in silver with extensive carbon fibre detailing and known as Project 300.
McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has created a bespoke version of the P1 hypercar, known as Project 300, built on chassis number 300. The car features a silver exterior finish and a suite of carbon fibre components, setting it apart from other P1s delivered to customers.
Project 300’s visual changes include exposed carbon fibre on the front splitter, doors, side mirrors and bonnet elements. The silver paintwork contrasts with these dark details, giving the car a distinct identity among the 375 P1s produced. The MSO division, responsible for McLaren’s most exclusive commissions, has previously delivered other unique P1s, including high-profile customer cars.
Technical specification and performance
The P1’s hybrid powertrain combines a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 727hp and 719Nm, with an in-house developed electric motor adding 176hp and 260Nm. The total system output is 903hp and 978Nm, sent to the rear wheels. Performance figures include 0-100km/h in 2.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 350km/h.
Bespoke details for collectors
MSO’s work on Project 300 demonstrates the demand for personalisation among hypercar buyers. Carbon fibre detailing, custom paintwork and unique trim choices allow owners to set their cars apart within a limited production run. With the P1 no longer in production, these one-off commissions are likely to remain highly sought after among collectors and enthusiasts.
