Chevrolet has officially introduced the 2016 Corvette, confirming three new design packages and a series of updates for the latest model year. The new options will be available on 3LT coupe and convertible variants as the car arrives in dealerships later in 2015.

The Twilight Blue Design Package pairs Arctic White, Shark Gray or Night Race Blue paintwork with Shark Gray vents, grey or black brake calipers and a Twilight Blue interior. Magnetic Ride Control, new wheels and a rear spoiler are included to complete the look.

The Spice Red Design Package brings a Spice Red interior, matching wheels and spoiler, and is offered with Arctic White, Blade Silver, Shark Gray or Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat paint. The Jet Black Suede Design Package adds a rear wing, red brake calipers, satin black wheels and hood extractor, Magnetic Ride Control, Carbon Flash badges and a Jet Black sueded microfiber interior with carbon fibre trim.

Other updates for 2016

Beyond the design packages, the 2016 Corvette receives several other enhancements. Buyers can specify a carbon fibre hood and choose from restyled wheels. The colour palette grows with Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat and Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat joining the range. A flat-bottom steering wheel is now standard, and Chevrolet lists additional minor tweaks across the line-up.

  • Twilight Blue Design Package: Arctic White, Shark Gray or Night Race Blue exterior, blue interior.
  • Spice Red Design Package: Arctic White, Blade Silver, Shark Gray or Long Beach Red, red interior.
  • Jet Black Suede Design Package: rear wing, red calipers, black wheels, Jet Black interior.

Chevrolet has not announced pricing for the 2016 Corvette at launch. The new options follow previous updates to the Stingray and Z06 models, which introduced additional colours and features in recent years. For more on the Z06, see Chevrolet Corvette Z06 unveiled at 2014 Detroit Motor Show.
