Hamann refines BMW 7 Series F01 and F02 with bespoke upgrades
German tuner Hamann has launched a customisation programme for the BMW 7 Series F01 and F02, offering aerodynamic enhancements, larger wheels, and interior upgrades.
Hamann has introduced a comprehensive tuning package for the BMW 7 Series F01 and F02, targeting owners seeking more presence and individuality for their luxury saloon. The German specialist’s programme covers both visual and performance upgrades, with options available for both petrol and diesel models.
Aerodynamic and exterior upgrades
The Hamann kit introduces new front and rear spoilers, a roof spoiler, and side skirts designed for the F01 body. The front skirt incorporates LED daytime running lights, which not only update the car’s appearance but also improve passive safety. Together with the aerodynamic components, these changes are intended to reduce lift at speed and give the 7 Series a more assertive stance.
Wheel options range from 19 to 22 inches, filling the arches and further distinguishing the Hamann 7 Series from standard models. At the rear, a four-pipe stainless steel sports exhaust system with 90mm tailpipes delivers a deeper, sportier sound and a more aggressive look. The rear skirt insert, available for the 730d and 740i, is required to fit the four-pipe exhaust.
Interior customisation and performance plans
Inside, Hamann offers a range of upgrades to match the exterior changes. Customers can specify full leather upholstery, custom-coloured floor mats with embroidered logos, and non-slip aluminium pedals and footrests. The aim is to create a more bespoke, motorsport-inspired environment tailored to individual tastes.
A performance enhancement for the 730d diesel is under development. Hamann’s first stage is expected to raise output from the standard 180kW (245hp) by around 33kW (45hp). This would take the 730d to approximately 213kW (290hp), although final figures and availability were not confirmed at launch.
Position in the tuning market
The Hamann package targets 7 Series owners looking for a more distinctive appearance and a sportier character, in a segment where factory individuality is limited. It is positioned against other German tuners offering similar upgrades for high-end BMWs, such as AC Schnitzer and Alpina, but with a focus on bold styling and custom interiors.
Hamann’s 7 Series kit is available for both short- and long-wheelbase models, with components sold individually or as a complete package. The company has not announced official pricing, and the diesel performance upgrade was still in development as of May 2009.
